With a rich history, we were formerly known as Hicks & Koinis PLLC and Hopper, Hicks & Wrenn PLLC, and we have been providing excellent legal services to this region for many years.

Kyle Hicks
Harrison Preddy
Harrison, a native of the Wilton Community in Granville County, focuses his practice in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, estate planning and administration, business and corporate law, business startup planning, trademark and copyright intellectual property law, franchise law, land use regulations, tax foreclosure proceedings, education law, guardianships, collections law, and special proceedings. Harrison, in addition to serving as general counsel to private and public entities at the local, state, and national level, is an avid believer in community engagement.
Harrison represents a wide array of clients including local and nationally recognized companies and corporations, private individuals, government entities, and clients from all aspects of life. Harrison is a graduate of Kerr Vance Academy in Henderson, after which he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from North Carolina State University. Harrison then attended the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University wherein the Degree of Juris Doctorate was conferred upon him. Harrison is licensed to practice before all North Carolina State Courts and the United States Federal Eastern District Court of North Carolina.
Harrison is an actively engaged member of the legal and greater Granville County communities. Harrison is a member of the North Carolina, Granville County Bar and Ninth Judicial District Bar Associations, in which he serves as the President (2025) and has served as Vice President (2023, 2024) and the United States Federal Eastern District of North Carolina Bar. He is also a member of the Brassfield Baptist Church congregation in Creedmoor where he has been a lifelong member. Additionally, Harrison is a member of the various local committees including the Oxford Arts Council (Exec. Board), the Steering Committee for Leadership Granville (Chairman), the Granville County Chamber of Commerce (Exec. Board), and the Henry F. Grainger Freemasonry Lodge No. 412 to name a few.
Daniel Washburn
Walker Brummitt
Walker grew up in Oxford, North Carolina, where he attended Granville County Schools. Upon graduation from J. F. Webb High School, he attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. While in college, he served on the Wake Forest University Honor Board, and doubled majored in History and Political Science, and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree. After graduating from Wake Forest University, he attended Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law and received his Juris Doctorate in 2020. After passing the bar in 2020 he was employed by Cross & Currin, LP, in Oxford. In 2022, Walker was named partner and the firm converted to Cross and Brummitt, LP. In 2023, Walker began managing the firm and converted to a sole practitioner under the name Law Office of M. Walker Brummitt, PLLC. Walker’s firm merged with Hicks, Preddy, and Washburn in January of 2025. Walker’s area of practice mainly consists of Real Estate, Estate Planning, and Estate Administration. Walker and his wife, Emily, also a Granville County native, reside in Oxford with their two children. Walker takes great pride in serving Granville County and the surrounding area and providing legal services to our rural community.
